NELA NAVARRINE

Nelida “Nela” Navarrine grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She earned a bachelor degree in Information Technology from the University of Buenos Aires and moved to St. Louis in 2009.

​

Her interest in painting began twenty years ago as a way to find a new passion in life. She studied since then with excellent teachers that taught her to find “colors in whites” and to “look deeper” into the world around her.

​​

Encaustic, oil and cold wax are her main mediums to create vibrant, textured and translucent works. She paints between fused layers of wax, between layers of polyurethane resin or on canvas.
