I grew up in a very small town in rural Wisconsin. To amuse myself, I would set up my Play-Doh Fun Factory in front of the TV and make all kinds of wacky creations while watching Bugs Bunny.

As I matured as an artist, I settled into oil painting. I had a number of friends who were potters, and once I tried clay, I was hooked.

My whimsical sculptures are hand built by cutting and shaping clay from slabs. They are under-glazed before firing and fired again with a matte glaze.

I have always been a people watcher, and my clay pieces explore the humor of what it means to be human. The surfaces are made to look worn, like a well-loved stuffed animal, and many are shirtless to appear more vulnerable. I hope people will be able to relate to these whimsical creations and are made a little happier because of them.
