As a Surface Design Fiber Artist, I have been hand dying fabric to
be used in wearable art, accessories, and home decor since 1991.
My art background is in drawing, painting, and design. Prior to my work
as a Fiber Artist, I spent many years as a professional seamstress.
I use a variety of Surface Design techniques such as Shibori
Resist dying, stamping, printing, painting and stitching to create
colorful images on blank fabric. When I have a specific use in mind,
my designs are planned in detail; other times, the serendipity of the
process gives me direction.
I am a member of The International Surface Design Association,
Missouri Fiber Artists, St.Charles County Arts Council, St.Louis
Artists Guild, and a Juried member of The Best of Missouri Hands.
My work has been displayed at various Missouri Fiber Artists
Member Shows, Framations Art Gallery, Clayton Fine Arts Gallery,
Lillian Yahn Gallery, Capitol Arts Gallery, St.Charles Community College,
Mildred M. Cox Gallery, Lambert St.Louis International Airport, Art
St.Louis, Albrecht-Kemper museum of Art, Contemporary Art Projects
at Webster University, and Artisans inTHE LOOP.
