Jim has been working with his hands since he a was a child, helping his father build a 21 foot Chris Craft cruiser, (OK how much help can a seven year old be, but he was there).  Then moving on to HO model trains followed by flying model airplanes.  He spent 23 years in the Air Force as a Photographic technician before settling in Olathe, KS.  It was then that seriously started woodworking attending Marc Adams School of Woodworking in Franklin Ind. for past 22 years.  He has taken  classes on making Cabinets, Veneer work, Marquerty, mixed media, inlay, finishing, carving,  working with curves.  It was with curves he found the direction he wanted to take his woodworking.  It was natural move from curves to creating the work you will find here in his jewelry boxes.  whether it is being inspired by looking at other wood artists for inspiration or an original design each piece has his own interpretation.  He has presented lectures at the Kansas City Woodworking Guild, the Wichita Ks and St, Joseph Mo. guilds.
